Security for your Sliding Glass Doors?

Due to its lack of strength and concealed location, the sliding patio glass door is one of the most vulnerable and commonly broken into doors on the home.  Many folks would love to leave it open and capture the cool delta breeze at night while sleeping, but don’t dare do it because they know they can’t rely on the flimsy sliding screen door to keep them safe.

But what can be done about it?  How can you rest easy at night getting the breeze without the bugs or thugs?

Two Sliding Security Door Brands To Choose From

Traditional Jail Bars are Unsightly

In the past, the only option for real security on a patio sliding glass door was to install tacky jail bars.  Not only was this unsightly, but these “jail bar” types of systems often quickly rusted and looked trashy in short order! In addition, these ghetto jail bar security systems were not bug-tight and often made it impossible to wash, repair, or replace the sliding glass doors or sliding screen door as the need arose!

The Solution? Simple Elegance and NO JAILBARS!

For years our customers have been asking AtoZ for an acceptable alternative, and FINALLY we have a solution! A strong, secure sliding screen door for your patio door that does not detract from your home!  Introducing AtoZ’s line of Sliding Security Screen Doors! No BARS, No Bugs, and no Break-Ins!

Security You Can Be Sure Of

You can finally be confident leaving your sliding glass door open to the elements without being vulnerable to the miscreants! Getting fresh air in your home no longer has to mean being forced to decide between having an open door policy to the less honorable elements in our society or living behind tacky jail bars.

At the heart of these doors is the woven stainless steel security screen mesh. This stainless steel mesh looks very similar to ordinary screen, but it can’t be kicked in or cut with a knife! It provides excellent two-way visibility, and unsurpassed airflow while giving you the ultimate in security and peace of mind. Our customers are always surprised at just how clearly they can see out through their newly installed Sliding Security Screen Door!

The outside edges of the stainless steel mesh are clamped securely in place so the panel can’t easily be kicked in (see Video), and the stainless steel screen mesh can’t be cut through with a knife.

Our Sliding Security Screen Doors are securely mounted using long tamper resistant mounting hardware that ties directly into your door jamb wall studs and are able to be locked securely so you can finally relax and enjoy the fresh air worry free. Once installed, your new sliding security door provides a secure barrier that allows the breeze in while keeping the bugs and thugs out!

Great Visibility and Airflow

Suspended within the extruded aluminum frame is a panel of woven screen mesh constructed of Genuine MeshTec 316 marine grade stainless steel. Woven in a fashion to make it look like sunscreen mesh, the security screen door’s airflow and visibility are breathtaking!

This revolutionary mesh allows Mother Nature’s fresh air to come in while keeping the less desirable bugs AND THUGS OUT! Our customers are always surprised at just how clearly they can see out through their newly installed Sliding Security Screen Door!

Locks:

The Sliding Security Screen Door comes standard with a 3-point locking system. Activated with a thumb turn lever from inside the house or a key from outside the home, this system’s commercial-grade security makes it impossible to pry the door open with conventional burglar tools without destroying the door (when purchased as a double panel door)… and making a whole lot of noise in the process!

Single, Double, Triple, or Quadruple Security Panels:

AtoZ’s Sliding security screen doors can be ordered with anywhere between one or 4 panels in order to cover as much of the sliding glass door as you desire.

Single Panel Sliding Security Doors

Single Panel: For the more price-conscious consumers or for folks who are more concerned with durability rather than security (think pets, kids, and drunk friends;-), you have the option of ordering the sliding security screen door as a single panel configuration. This means that only the sliding glass side of the door will be protected with a panel of security mesh.

In addition, because of their design, AtoZ does not consider a single panel door to be a security door due to the fact that the fixed portion of the sliding glass door could easily be broken and used to come into your home. In addition, single panel doors are not bug-tight and may have some visible gaps where insects or other pests could gain access to your home. Lastly, we are not able to retrofit a single sliding security screen door into a double sliding security door at a later date.

Double Panel Sliding Security Doors

Double Panel: Most customers order their sliding security screen door as a double panel configuration. Ordering your door with two mesh panels allows it to cover and protect both sides of a standard sliding glass door: One security mesh panel covers the sliding glass side of the door, while the second mesh panel covers the fixed portion of the door.

When it comes time to wash the windows, the “stationary” side panel can be unlocked and rolled to the side in order to expose the fixed portion of your sliding glass door for cleaning and then be secured back into position when done.

Three Panel Sliding Security Doors

If your sliding glass patio door has one sliding glass panel and two stationary glass panels, we’ve got you covered. AtoZ can have your sliding security door made with three panels of security mesh, thus securing your doorway completely and giving you a finished, custom look.

When it comes time to wash the windows, the two stationary security panels can be unlocked and rolled to the side in order to expose the fixed portion of your sliding glass door for cleaning and then be secured back into position when done.

Two and Four Panel French Sliding Security Doors

If you have French sliding glass doors with four separate panels of glass to protect, AtoZ has got you covered in style! We can make your sliding security doors with two panels, thus only covering the two sliding glass doors, or we can make your sliding security doors with four panels, thus protecting all four panels of glass. If a four-panel sliding security door is installed, the two “stationary” panels can be unlocked and rolled to the side in order to expose the fixed portions of your sliding glass door for cleaning and then be secured back into position when done.

Please remember that if you choose the less expensive two-panel option, they are not to be considered true security doors due to the fact that the fixed portions of the sliding glass door could easily be broken and used to come into your home. In addition, the two-panel French doors are not bug-tight and may have some visible gaps where insects or other pests could gain access to your home. Lastly, we are not able to retrofit a two-panel sliding security screen door into a four panel sliding security door at a later date.
