A to Z’s NFI Gas Certified technicians perform all types of repairs, big or small.
EVERY SINGLE GAS FIREPLACE OWNERS MANUAL will tell you in no uncertain terms, that your gas fireplace REQUIRES ANNUAL SERVICE by a qualified gas technician! If this is news to you, don’t feel bad…. most people have no idea that running your gas fireplace without ever having it serviced is like driving your car around without ever changing the oil! Just like your car, Gas Fireplaces also need a qualified technician to clean and service their inner components, and check for any safety concerns or parts that are wearing out or nearing the point of failure.
With Gas Fireplaces, it’s not usually the chimney or vent that needs to be cleaned, but the fireplace unit itself! And it’s not usually soot that needs to be cleaned out, but all the dust, dirt, pet hair, insects, and other foreign materials that are drawn into the combustion area (where the fire burns), and into the controls compartment beneath the combustion area. But unless you tend to use your gas fireplace several hours each day during the winter, your fireplace probably won’t need an annual cleaning. Our average customers need to have their gas fireplace serviced every 3-5 years since Sacramento California winters tend to be shorter and less severe compared to other parts of the country .
How do you know if your gas fireplace is due for a cleaning?
Foggy Dirty Glass indicates this gas fireplace desperately needs to be cleaned and serviced.
You’ll know it’s time to call A to Z when you notice: 1. A gray haze or film on the inside of your fireplace glass, 2. An accumulation of dust and debris in the cavity beneath the combustion area. (This area can usually be accessed for inspection by opening the louvers at the bottom of the fireplace), 3. Your fireplace gives off a pungent smell every time you fire it up.
What is included when the fireplace is serviced?
Clean glass and new embers really make your gas fireplace much more enjoyable
The glass, gas logs, burner tubes, and orifices are all removed and meticulously cleaned.
The Combustion area, lower cavity, and area on top of the fireplace are thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned.
The fireplace is re-emberized for vibrant effect while burning
Parts that typically fail (such as thermocouples, thermopiles, spark ignition wires, flame rectification rods, etc) are checked for serviceability and changed if necessary. We strive to carry the most common parts and are often able to replace parts without an extra trip or service charge.
So if it’s been a while since you’ve had your gas fireplace cleaned and serviced by a qualified gas fireplace technician, A to Z would love to get it in top condition and looking like new! Your fireplace will look much better, last longer, and provide you a more pleasurable burning experience!
Dear A to Z,
I just wanted to thank you for the great job you guys did installing my new Pellet Stove! After much careful research, I recently purchased my new stove from a dealer on the Internet. Eager to have it installed, I contacted your company and decided to have you install it…and just like choosing a good stove was important to me, choosing the right installer was also very important. My research proved to be worth the effort! What a hassle-free experience working with your company!!
I have dealt with other contractors who wouldn’t listen to my suggestions or concerns, but your guys were very courteous to listen and responsive to my requests. I really appreciate having been able to be an observer from start to finish.
For anyone else who might be considering hiring you…I have to tell you, A to Z has got great customer service, & knowledgeable and experienced field techs! I just wish other contractors I have dealt with in the past were as proficient and efficient as you! I will be sure to spread the word about your great service! Thanks A to Z!
Sincerely,
George Zukowski
