Daniel & I went to the August workshop in Lincoln, CA again this year. Aaron Zambrana sponsored the workshop and set up the itinerary. It was held at the home of his friend and customer. The workshop went well. There were a lot of attendees and the weather held to mild, but sunny till 4pm, which was when we were breaking up anyway. It had been so hot up till that day that we were afraid we’d be burned to a crisp working outside all day.
The homeowner was a WONDERFUL host! He helps us set up in the morning, and had even gone to the Sacramento airport and brought back a sweep that had not gotten his ride to the workshop coordinated. He wife, parents and kids all treated us like friends and hung around all day to watch the proceedings.
The farm they live on was so much fun! They have very friendly animals all over the property. His wife has a daycare center at the home and wants the goats, horses, dogs, pig, ducks, pony and chickens to all be approachable, which I can personally confirm is true.
Chim-Scan® of Fireplace and Levels of Evaluation Our own past president and current NCSG Region 8 Director, Mr. Randy Brooks did a very nice presentation of a Level 2 evaluation, complete with Chim-Scan® camera. There was no attic to access and the under floor was too shallow to access, but seeing the camera working was good for those who hadn’t seen one before. He did a thorough run through of possible scenarios. He also brought his laptop and showed Dale Feb’s report software for use with reports and went over the Napa’s Level 1, 2, and 3 descriptions that are on the back of each copy of his report template.
Access Door Installation and Lining of a Masonry Fireplace, Aaron did a great job making sure there was plenty of hands-on work for everyone. There were a lot of helpers to cut the square hole out of the side of the chimney for an access door, parged the breast, install the door and line the chimney with a donated liner system. Thanks again to Protech for the donated liner!!!
The workshop was a great success and we all enjoyed the work and learning experiences made available. Thanks again to Aaron for putting this event together so well!
I’d better get back to the phones; the busy season approaches and it’s not creeping in!
Dear A to Z,
Thank you for mailing us the free Home Show Tickets!! We really enjoyed the show!
Ironically it was at the show last year that we became acquainted with your competitor involved with the pellet stove cleaning mis-diagnosis (the unnecessary need of installing of a " T" clean out). After utilizing your service and submitting your findings to your competitor they reluctantly consented to refund the service/inspection fee they had charged in addition to the fee of cleaning our dryer vent which was performed during the same service call.
You can be assured that in the future we will continue to support your company for our pellet stove and dryer vent cleaning needs.
